Engineering

Centurion has unrivalled capabilities in the safe integration of infotainment systems and our customers know that all standard automotive practices are understood and followed.

Our team of engineers all have wide-ranging experience in the design, development and validation of automotive seating and interiors. CAD tools further strengthen our in-car engineering experience and skills. We use Catia and Pro-Engineer as the core design tools but we can support all industry packages and file formats. Our engineers use these tools for:

  • Vehicle – System Integration
  • Part Design and Assemblies
  • Package Studies and DFA Analysis
  • Finite Element – Meshing – Analysis.

Test & Development

Our testing facility enables the majority of design verification tests to be conducted in-house, including:

  • Electrical Testing for functionality, over voltage, reverse polarity, voltage and temperature fluctuation, fluctuating waveform of power supply, field decay and load dump
  • Durability and Endurance Testing covering: switch endurance, long term durability testing, high temperature durability, low temperature durability and head restraint operational durability.

We also have experience and skills using recognised third party testing facilities such as MIRA, LTC and SGS.

Our teams work to specific verification processes including:

  • Environmental and climatic
  • Electrical
  • Mechanical
  • Durability and endurance
  • Materials
  • Safety and legal.

Programme Management & Quality

Our structured approach to managing automotive infotainment projects ensures rigorous control to achieve key milestones, at the best possible cost, with minimum environmental impact. Fundamental to the process is ensuring Product Design assurance; Quality and Reliability are managed with equal focus. The same structured and focused approach is applied to engineering change management. This ensures changes are managed, controlled and implemented in line with customers’ requirements and expectations.

As you would expect we have a company-wide focus on best-in-class quality standards using a systematic approach to achieve repeatable results at every phase of product development from conception through to manufacturing. We are working towards ISO9001: 2008 accreditation.

The start point is an initial design for validation. Then assembly quality is built-in and assured using our Quality Management System. Centurion’s QMS is documented in our Quality Manual which defines the policies and procedures necessary to ensure that our products and services meet both specific client requirements and internationally recognised Quality system standards.
